i love you...

I remember
the first time
I spoke the words to you.
They
slipped
across my lips,
binding words that speak of
permanence.

Words that speak of
trust.

The words poured from
my soul,
desperate to reach out
to yours.
Desperate to show you
what I'd hidden
for so long.

I told you that I love you.
The words would not stop.
I tried
to hold them back.
Another failure
on my part.

But I meant it.

Yes, my friend. I meant
what I said.
That I love you.

The words have escaped;
they no longer belong
to my heart.
They belong
to yours.

This is gorgeousness. It truly is. Beautiful writing.

We all learn different things. We all learn from vastly unique lives. One thing I have learned about love though, is that it both does and does not have permanence. It is solid in a moment, but lives are filled with uncountable moments. Keep your heart loose. You have vast potential for love. :)

(Now kick me in my pants for my two cents. Your life is unique.)

Erin, to your first comment, no kick in the pants needed. This is what I'm trying to learn. To your second, yep. Always. My parents used to say it to me all the time when I was little, and it'd make me mad. Now I just enjoy it. :D
